Reminders:

1.) The Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) is automatically calculated by the tax program. Besides entering in the above information, you need do nothing to claim the EITC credit.

2.) Check to see that the 1040ez is the best form for you to file. You don't get many tax breaks with the 1040ez. Check the Comprehensive Checklist in the section on Which Form ... 1040ez, 1040a, 1040?

3.) Make sure your name(s) and social security number(s) are correctly entered. Your name must match Social Security Administration (SSA) records. If you have changed your name, use the name and social security number registered with the SSA.

4.) Last year's tax return is usually a great resource, especially for comparing one year to another.

5.) Retain a copy of your tax return for at least three years. This year's tax return can be used next year for your electronic signature PIN.
